April 5, 2009 with my deepest apologies

I had some computer problems and this was a lesson to me.

I had my account name and password saved in my computer so a hard drive failure and my lack of having to remember myown information made it impossible to access myown website. If you sent me any e-mails I also lost them since my account was inactive for too long.

ANYWAY enough with the excuses .... The Open House for

the sale of the "O. V." was today. And yes I made sure that the Realator was the right person for the responsibility of this duty

I PROMISE to update my site with all of the new things done at

the Old Victorian within the week. I thank everybody who does

visit my site. I have not updated it in a while and still since May of 2008 I am averaging 600 viewers per month.

W O W ! I can't believe how long it's been since I have even viewed myown site !   I have been working excessively hard recently at the OV. Getting as much work done as I can before bringing a boom onto the property to reach the highest points of the gables.   So I do apologize for not updating my site but the wait will be worth it ! :)

The Boom Lift is here and I have been using it for almost 2 weeks now.   The pressure is on since the rental is only for a month. Here
is a picture of "The New Toy" .... as it has been given that name !

So you can see where all of my time has been going. :)   I promise I will make more updates .... the night I come home from the job and don't collapse from heat exhaustion !! LOL   Thanks for being patient.

We had a little rain last night and this morning is cloudy so I took some time to review all of my pictures from the last month.   I renamed all of the picture files and uploaded them to my site storage space.   Believe me, that is the hardest part of updating my website. So look forward to some changes coming soon. After reviewing and renaming those pictures, I have taken a whole series of more pictures up to July 9th.   Those pictures are now organized and renamed so I am currently working on making the actual updates 7/14/07.

There are new pages ready to view right now. The first one is "The O V Outside Back of the House".    more to follow later today in fact.    7/14/07.

I will spend this week going through any pictures I can find of my work that I did while I lived on St. Thomas, USVI. There are many examples of some intricate artwork that I completed.   I do match veins when doing marble work so you will be impressed by these pictures.

I have made some progress in posting the St. Thomas pics. I have to add some more text to one of the jobs.   Status is still the same as of 7/4/08
UPDATE After That

As I go through my pictures I will also be collecting pictures I
have taken of my hobby. Yes I found the perfect hobby for an obsessive compulsive perfectionist. Building DOLLHOUSES. I am not even kidding. You are going to love them.

I found these pictures and I still have to scan them into the computer.   Scanning these pictures will start next week. Due to a change in plans, other tile and marble work has been scanned and pages were added to the site on 4/4/07.   More is to follow. As of 7/4/08 the status here also remains the same.

Nice weather and we start moving current work projects at the O V out of doors. The second and third floor staircases and landings should be painted sometime soon so you can expect to see some pictures of that coming up as well. Not to show off the paint, but to show the taping and spackle work I did to get to the point of being ready to paint. There is no further discussion here, due to a product failure used in the taping
process.

SO Let's jump down the page a little to "Coming in 2008"

The next pages to be added will be the before pictures of projects that will be worked on outdoors at the Old Victorian House
" The O. V. " as it has become known as ... :)   A few of these pics
are up now.

Here in NJ we have had some extremely nasty weather with no
chance of working outdoors.   My basement took on water and
it took me a few days to get the matter under control. Never a
dull moment !   So here it is the 18th of April and I have not been
on the job since Friday, the 13th.

Now it is Tuesday, April 24th.   I have had a few great days outside
as far as the weather is concerned.   There was an issue with the
bucket truck overheating because the fan belt broke due to a bearing in a pully assembly seizing up. When the engine is not running the batteries for controlling the bucket motion drain quickly.   With that
repaired, I am continuing along and pictures will be taken today. I
may even get them posted for Thursday.

I will not be posting pictures Wednesday since it is my Wedding anniversary ! 9 years.

CHANGES   MADE

I finished up with the outside work at the O V.   In the past two weeks I have been organizing the pictures from this summer.   With the weather much so to our advantage, summer and the outside work went
right through until the beginning of October !!   In fact as of 10/23/07
the painter has finished up painting and detailing the outside of the house.   So here is a sneak peek of the house in tinted primer.   I updated the pictures on each of the pages in my site.

   A Long time coming but well worth the wait !!!

And YET Another Sneak Peek at my hobby .... Building Doll Houses

And YES ! I not only build dollhouses from kits; I design them, draw them to scale and I even pre-built this one out of cardboard to test my design. This would be my dream house. A Spanish hasienda with terra cotta tile roof, stucco and stone exterior finish as well as lots of glass and granite finished floors with circulating hot water heat under the tiles. All woodwork red mahogany.

   IN 2008 ......
I added the O. V. work that I finished doing on the foundation. The page is called The O. V. Foundation.
I also did a deck this year and I will be adding that page soon.
I painted the wicker furniture at the O. V. but I can't seem to locate the pictures.

Another change I need to make is to add a different Home Page picture layout. The collage effect does not show off the important details in the individual pictures.

Changes that took place today. August 30, 2010

I added a link on the home page to my brother's website for mudjacking.

I changed some text on the "My Work" page and added a page called

"My Home Projects"

I am adding blank pages for "My Home Projects" and "My Work"

Blank Pages under My Work are printed in ALL Capital letters.

Tomorrow I will begin uploading pictures to their respectful pages 8/31/10.

In a mere 2 weeks I am already up to 83 visitors with 232 views. Keep in mind that before I lost my site I was averaging 600 hits a month. :) John

Today's changes were extensive. August 31, 2010

I added a lot of pictures to most of the new pages. In some I just added a before and after or just a few after shots. Some I didn't add any text to, but at least there are pictures to see.

The most complete pages are the Attic Reinsulation page and the Animal coop ... just because the coop one was pretty simple.

The Court Bench pics before and after show an impressive change.

My Home projects have a few pics to stir some interest.

A kitchen job has 3 finished pics.

The O V Kitchen needs more text.

Another Victorian Porch has a before and a couple after pics and needs text.

A Gorgeous Bathroom will get a lot more pics and text.

The Victorian Bathroom has a long story behind it but the finished pics are up.

I found my other window and door replacement pictures so that is the most important next part of what will show up before school.

So right now it is after midnight so todays changes reflect what I finished as of Thurday night. I collected and organized all of my Lead abatement pictures. Over the Labor day weekend I will upload and post them to my

site.

The very good news right now is that with my site back up for only 16 days, I have had a total of 116 NEW visitors with a total of 319 views.

This basically means that peoploe visiting my site view 3 different pages.

I fixed the pictures for lead abatement and re-uploaded them to the site so

between tonight and tomorrow, Labor Day, I will create the page called

"Lead Abatement" The most important page for school coming up. The

problem I had to fix was that the pics resolution were too high, making the pics not fully viewable on the site.
